EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Requires either a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and three years engineering or comparable experience, or a high school diploma and five years engineering or comparable experience. Good working knowledge of dies, Tool Room equipment processes, Tool design, CAD/CAM, Automotive drawings, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Transfer mechanisms, presses, SPC, Coordinate measuring machine, and Automotive checking fixtures. Experience verbal and written communication skills.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze manufacturing processes and sequences to establish economical and safe methods of production. Responsible and accountable to actively manage the award of tool programs to successful outcome. Additional roles and responsibilities are established in the responsibility sections of the EMS Documentation.
Responsible and accountable to actively manage the award tool programs to successful outcome. This will be accomplished through direct involvement and through reporting employees.
Responsible and accountable to administer Advanced Product Quality Planning, per Gm/Ford/Chrysler standards.
Responsible and accountable to review incoming drawings, cad data, sketches, EWO’s Fastrackers, etc., affecting current and awarded business.
Responsible and accountable to manage tooling program cost accounting.
Responsible for writing customer correspondence and customer liaison with customers buyers, engineers, and quality personnel as required.
Responsible and accountable to interface with tooling vendors and material supplies both directly and through the tooling engineers.
Responsible and accountable to be a member of our Continuous Improvement Team.
